Introduction to OZ Systems
What kind of company are we?
Did you know that about one in three hundred newborn babies has some degree of hearing loss in one or both ears? And did you know that, if a certain number of those children were fitted with hearing aids just before their third birthdays, they would experience NONE of the typical development problems attributed to early life hearing loss? This is just one example of a happy outcome for children when newborn screening detects a treatable condition and the child receives timely treatment.
OZ Systems plays a critical role in assuring that those happy outcomes happen. We provide software that allows screeners, educators, and health care providers to follow up with the children’s parents or guardians to get the right care at the right time. Typically, a screener enters information about the newborns, including contact information, test results, and names of suitable care providers. At the right time, the providers examine the children. In the case of hearing loss, they may outfit the little patients with hearing aids or arrange pre-Kindergarten education so that they can adjust their behavior to fit in seamlessly with others.
Hearing loss is just one treatable condition we address. There are dozens more that we can and do help health care providers track. With all of them, timing is everything. OZ Systems provides the alert mechanisms to make sure the right treatment happens at just the right time.
