"The founders of OZ Systems saw a healthcare information management system that needed help, so in 1996 they started OZ to respond. They address this need one child at a time to ensure appropriate and timely follow-up care for patients. In particular, they aim to break down information silos in public health to improve care for our youngest patients newborns and thus development is focused on integrating systems for hearing and genetic and metabolic screening. The first product developed was designed and built to capture screening and follow-up intervention data related to the care of newborns in an early hearing detection and intervention pilot program. A robust patient management system evolved from there, capable of managing multiple newborn screening programs on local, state, and national levels. OZ Systems is an information technology company with a human interest, intent that no child should be missed or fail to receive the care s/he needs. Currently over five million babiesą care records are entered using the OZ system."
